The customer account specialist is responsible for providing efficient and timely processing of orders for materials and merchandise. In this role, you will handle the complete order process for order entry, tracking orders, status update, customer notification or any changes, and invoicing. You will respond to customer inquiries providing non-technical problem resolution, resolve complex or unusual requests and problems that may require a customized response, and communicate solutions and requested information to customers.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate, efficient, and timely processing or orders
- Manage the complete order process from order entry, invoicing, bill of materials, and sales commissions
- Handle order tracking, status updates, and customer notification of any changes
- Complete contract review of orders ensuring a complete understanding of the customers' requirements and verifies customer addresses, billing/shipping terms, PO against quote, PO content against quote, and PO references to valid quote for order acceptance
- Works with various departments across the organization to coordinate and manage large scale machine projects
- Respond to customer inquiries, providing non-technical problem resolution
- Resolve complex or unusual requests and problems that may require a customized response and communicate solutions or requested information to the customer
- Interact with suppliers, vendors, and factory to expedite orders
- Confer with manager regarding the resolution of complex or critical cases as necessary
- Attend meetings and provide input and updates
- Support products and/or processes that are more complex and/or critical in nature
- Provide input and assist manager with updating process and procedure manuals
- Interact effectively with all levels of employees and customers
- Interact directly with customers and sales representatives on a variety of complex, multifaceted sales related issues.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of company's products
- Adhere to policies and procedures for order entry, acknowledgement process, routine order maintenance, invoicing, milestone invoicing, commission accounts, credits and returned goods
- Liaison with colleagues or managers to find the best solutions to customer's issues
- Obtain and share customer feedback with colleagues and other departments so products and services can be improved
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or related environment
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent customer service skills
- Creative, self-motivated, and driven
- Excellent analytical, detail oriented, and reasoning skills
- Works independently as well as in a team of environment
