What you will do: Under general direction of the Director of Sales, you will develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales through independent manufacturer representative and direct Johnson Controls Direct Office channels for Johnson Control's Fan Coil Units, VAV Terminals, and Blower Coil Units. Responsible for achieving annual regional revenue, gross margin, increasing market share and account receivable support.
This position will cover the East/Central half of the United States and Canada. It is a remote position, but the preferred candidate would be close to airport hub for the region.
How you will do it:
Develop and maintain relationships with JCI direct offices and rep firms driving focus on FCU, VAV and BCU/AHU products.
Establish and maintain close relationships with sales management and ownership for each Rep firm and Direct JCI Office.
Monitor AHRI market share; establish and run action plans to meet/exceed share expectations.
Conduct revenue and business review with JCI Direct Office/Rep firm sales management/principal and initiate action plans and selling strategies as needed to assure revenue plan is achieved.
Provide detailed FCU/VAV/BCU product and software selection tool training
Assist salesperson in achieving Basis of Design for product in project mechanical specifications.
Provide technical product presentations, including lunch and learns, to consulting engineers, owners, and contractors.
Assist in driving implementation of new product launches.
Attend and represent JCI at local trade shows.
Analyze local competitive landscape and develop specific game plan to increase product sales to overcome competitive obstacles.
Provide feedback to Product Management of options/features needed to meet competitors product and option/features needed to differentiate us from competition.
Assist JCI Direct offices/Rep firm with project quotation including review of project plans and specifications to develop appropriate bill of material.
Develop monthly rolling 6 month revenue forecast.
Assist with development of annual sales quotas.
Continuously analyze local market and Rep dynamics making sure we are aligned with the best partner.
Requires significant usage of Customer Relationship Management Tool (SalesForce), including customer business plan, goals, objectives, critical initiatives, and action plans required to achieve revenue goal. Also involves entries for larger projects that have been quoted for regular meetings to discuss suitability of project backlog.
What we look for:
Required:
Bachelor degree, preferably in mechanical engineering or engineering technology
Proficient with Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
2-3 years HVAC experience in the Design/Build, Design/Assist, and Plan & Specification markets
2-3 years experience developing and managing a sales plan and successfully delivering revenue plan
Minimum 2 years technical sales and marketing experience
Understanding of different types of FCU’s and VAV terminals
Experience supporting/leading third party independent representative sales channel
Experience supporting a manufacturing facility
Ability to command and influence medium sized audience with polished presentation skills
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
Outstanding organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in managing multiple projects
Collaborative and strong interpersonal skills
Excellent time management skills
Travel up to 35%

Customer Relationship / Sales Management Tool experience
