Acutronic Simulation & Test USA (ASTU) is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join our Pittsburgh, PA team. Our model candidate would have at least ten years’ experience in aerospace or defense industry business capture; experience at conducting effective and persuasive presentations to management and customers, both internally and externally; and experience developing and expanding a customer base through systematic lead generation, business development, and sales execution through proposal submittal. For 50 years, Acutronic’s Simulation & Test Division has been the global market leader in the development, design, and manufacture of Inertial Guidance Test Systems and Hardware-In-The-Loop motion simulators. These high-precision motion simulators are used in the aerospace, defense, automotive, and consumer electronics industries to test and calibrate inertial sensors (e.g. gyroscopes and accelerometers that measure movement), Inertial Navigation Systems, Electronic Stability Control systems, and the in-flight engagement scenarios of missiles.
Acutronic’s Aerospace Components Division develops and manufactures specialty components for use on unmanned aerial vehicles and missile systems. These products are used on next-generation aerospace programs and include a range of micro-turbine engines, electric power systems, actuators, and turbo-generator propulsion systems. The Division offers standard products and excels at designing highly customized solutions for demanding mission requirements.

Acutronic is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer
Your roles/responsibilities will include:
Achieve agreed Orders objectives- Assess, develop, implement, and execute on core Simulation and Test bookings objectives
- Conduct market, customer, and competitor assessments to support core business and tangential business opportunities (including gimbaled- or stabilized-platforms)
- Engage and maintain strong industry relationships within the USG customer-base, as well as overall U.S. marketplace, so that strong strategic relationships can develop
- Establish a working relationship with relevant US Department of Defense Program Offices and Defense National Labs
- Develop/manage the long-range opportunity pipeline, and communication & networking plans.
- Collaborate with Sales Team counterparts on initiatives/actions to meet objectives
- Identify potential partners for strategic alliances ranging from suppliers, teaming, joint-ventures, or M&A
- As applicable, establish a federal out-reach initiative to inform and educate Congress and the Pentagon on relevant Acutronic business issues and program funding concerns
- Identify and assess opportunities and communicate capture plans with internal stakeholders
- Develop and manage the sales/marketing budget for new growth pursuits (including gimbaled- or stabilized- platforms). Lead development of proposals, with support from engineering and operations
- Travel to customer sites to discuss applications and new or existing product sales opportunities
- Attend tradeshows and conferences to promote products and increase market exposure (e.g., walking show, booth staffing, presenting of papers)
Your qualifications/skills should include:
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university- A minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace or defense industry business capture
- Experience in gimbaled-, stabilized- (or related) platforms/systems or in the field of servo systems and/or motion control, or related fields is a plus
- Experience delivering effective and persuasive presentations to management and customers
- Must be a self-starter and possess a “hunting” mentality
- Must be a US Person
Position type / physical demand:
Work is generally performed in an office environment- Frequent domestic travel required (50%+)
