Sales Manager
What Are We Looking For?

What Will I Be Doing?
  • Maintain sustainable dealership production levels as defined by the General Manager and Senior Leadership
  • Actively participate in the recruitment of high-performing individuals by owning the entirety of the recruiting process as a hiring manager
  • Create and execute an action plan to effectively manage the sales team
  • Identify coaching needs and promote training opportunities
  • Hire, mentor and monitor the performance of the sales team
  • Set an example of professionalism through actions and appearance
  • Maintain superior customer service (CSI) through dealership culture
  • Ensure target revenues are met or exceeded
  • Responsible for profitability in both the new and used vehicle departments
  • Work closely with sales team on enforcement of proper selling methods
  • Set objectives for achieving sales and gross profits
  • Manage new and pre-owned cars inventory
  • Assist the General Manager in developing an advertising / marketing plan
  • Plan, implement and measure promotions
  • Responsible for developing a productive relationship throughout the various dealership departments - F&I, accounting, pre-owned, service, and parts
  • Be the biggest promoter of CSI throughout the dealership
  • Develop high performing and capable sales team members into future roles in the organization through job growth, training, development and performance
  • Provide guidance, support and motivation to ensure employees are maximizing their ability and growth potential
  • Maintain a positive and ethical working relationship with all employees, manufacturers, lenders, vendors and customers
  • Continue to maintain our dealership's value, quality, and integrity
  • Analyze information and evaluate alternatives in an effort to resolve issues and make sound, timely decisions.
  • Performs efficiently with the normal amount of direction for the position; displays the professional attitude and capabilities of a self-starter.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual should possess:
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required; college degree preferred
  • At least three (3) years of sales management experience
  • Proven track record of successfully meeting and exceeding sales goals
  • Excellent customer service, organizational and negotiation/closing skills
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented and enthusiastic presence in a team environment
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Experience and familiarity with various Automotive systems
  • Consistent and stable work history
  • Professional appearance and work ethic
  • Ability to apply a common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Have and maintain an excellent driving record.
  • All potential employees must pass pre-employment testing including a background check and drug screen

Compensation / Benefits

  • Salary: $64,480 to $120,000 per year.
  • Commission Eligibility: Yes, this position is eligible for a structured commission program based on the financial performance of the assigned location.
  • Bonus Eligibility: Yes, this position is eligible for a discretionary bonus opportunity based on performance or other extenuating circumstances and as approved by the Vice President of Fixed Operations.
Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual compensation offer will take into account a wide range of factors to include location and experience.
