Technical Sales Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Sales Manager with a background in chemical engineering and a proven track record in sales. As a Technical Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth, building customer relationships, and promoting our cutting-edge products and solutions to clients in the petrochemical, metalworking, metal-finishing and food industries.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy and Business Development:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand market share within the markets we sell into.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by proactively prospecting and qualifying leads.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, managing all aspects of the sales process from lead generation to closing deals.
- Technical Expertise and Product Knowledge:
- Utilize your strong background in chemical engineering to understand the technical aspects of our products and effectively communicate their value proposition to clients.
- Provide technical support to customers, including product recommendations, troubleshooting, and application assistance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to effectively position our products in the market.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target accounts.
- Conduct customer visits, meetings, and presentations to promote our products, address customer concerns, and negotiate contracts.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs, recommend tailored solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for growth.
- Track and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to management on progress towards targets and potential areas of improvement.
- Utilize CRM systems and other sales tools to manage customer interactions, document sales activities, and maintain accurate sales records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree/experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience.
- Strong technical acumen and ability to understand complex chemical engineering concepts and products.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers and build long-lasting relationships.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients within the assigned territory.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
