We are currently seeking applicants for the role of Sales Analyst. This role will report to the Retail Strategy Manager on the Sales team. The individual in this position will leverage data to support brand, product, and merchandising decisions for the company at retail. The Sales Analyst role is critical to helping the Duke Cannon organization think smarter and faster about how we win in the marketplace as an insurgent challenger brand in men’s grooming.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collecting and entering weekly point-of-sale data from our retailers into the company’s weekly scorecard to identify trends and business growth opportunities with the team’s National Account Managers
- Creating and maintaining monthly by-category pricing reports for customers and internal teams
- Assisting in the creation and delivery of top customer presentations and selling materials
- Actively supporting the Sales team in forecasting and planning; coordinating with the Supply Chain team in forecasting and demand planning
- Studying syndicated data (IRI) to report upon category trends, sharing findings and collaborating with the Retail Strategy Manager
- Tracking promotional activity for assigned accounts and the broader market
- Providing ad hoc sales and inventory analyses, performing other Sales and cross-functional tasks as requested
Experience and Requirements:
This position will report directly to the Retail Strategy Manager but will also work closely with other members of the Food Drug & Mass (FDM) Sales team, including the Chief Growth Officer.
Qualities of ideal candidates include the following:
- Strong Business Acumen - Required: at least three years’ experience in the CPG industry working directly with retailers’ data systems and tools, as well as experience with syndicated data tools (IRI, Nielsen).
- Analytical Agility - Ability to perform a variety of Excel functions, as well as analyze data. Experience working in Excel, building models, and using data to influence decisions is required.
- Intellectual Curiosity – Motivated with a propensity to want to get to the answers quickly. The ideal candidate will not only be able to execute tasks, but also bring creative thinking to the table.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Since this position requires direct interfacing with Team Members and Duke Cannon customers, the ideal candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High Attention to Detail – The ideal candidate possesses the ability to oversee multiple time-dependent projects and deliver quality outputs.
- Resourceful - Duke Cannon is a fast-growing, lean organization. Being scrappy i.e., accomplishing objectives with fewer resources is important. At times, the candidate will need to approach tasks creatively to manage deliverables.
- Accountable Team Mindset – Candidate must be accountable to their work and demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting the Sales team’s quarterly goals.
