Full description of the position

Duties/Responsibilities:

Individual Solicitations:25%

  • Manage portfolio of ~40 households of major gift prospects. (major gift = >$25,000)
  • Provide development leadership by identifying, engaging and successfully soliciting individuals, corporations, and foundations for gift support.
  • Establish and solicit gifts for a University Athletic Excellence Fund.
  • Develop solicitation strategies for major gift donors by conducting research, identifying and prioritizing top prospective donors, creating plans for engaging donors with the university, and establishing philanthropic relationships which lead to a major gift.

National Bison Club: 50%

  • Manage portfolio of ~75 households of annual giving prospects. (annual gift = <$25,000)
  • Develop and implement an annual giving strategy for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics that focuses on recruiting, retaining and stewarding donors. (May include direct mail, social media, e-mail strategy, and other various digital channels)
  • Work with coaches and teams to raise funds to cover athletic program needs.
  • Coordinate relationships and development activities with the Department of Athletics leadership, the Athletic Director, and other administrative areas, campus units, peer development officers, and departmental leaders.
  • In collaboration with the Associate Vice President for Annual Giving, coordinate activities in connection with Lipscomb Day of Giving.
  • Ensure the Department of Athletics website content and links with appeal codes are updated as needed.

Stewardship and Engagement: 25%

  • Implement an athletics stewardship plan to message gratitude and illustrate impact. In addition, this position is responsible for fulfilling the benefits associated with the National Bison Club.
  • Work with the Office of Alumni Engagement to plan alumni events around sporting events. (Pre-game events, Homecoming Weekend, Sport specific alumni reunions, golf scrambles, etc.)
  • Manage and monitor donor relationships and prospects effectively ensuring appropriate call reports and documentation are properly recorded.
  • Ensure the Department of Athletics website content and links with appeal codes are updated as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
