Job Description
Summary:
This position is responsible for sales-related activities and implementation of the sales efforts outlined in the marketing plan for LSS home and community based services, including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with referral sources, customers, and LSS team members; Upholds the Lutheran Senior Services philosophy, core values, and goals to ensure that the Christian mission of “Older Adults Living Life to the Fullest” is realized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with external referral sources and key stakeholders
Effectively markets and sells to LSS Life Plan Communities (LPC) to generate appropriate referrals and program enrollments
Meets budgeted and strategic goals, including monthly admission targets identified for LSS Home and Community Based Service
Identifies and pursues new opportunities to increase appropriate referrals and program enrollments
Promotes LSS as the in-home services provider of choice in the metro St. Louis area with special emphasis on hospice, private duty, and home health
Coordinates, schedules, and conducts LSS-wide programs to educate residents, families, and staff about programs and services that are available through LSS
Stays current on and applies a firm understanding of Medicare and Medicaid regulations related to the various programs and services; current insurance contracts across the LSS continuum of care
Connects clients and customers to the entire LSS continuum of care as appropriate
Tracks appropriate information in the LSS database throughout the marketing and sales process daily
Establishes a positive image of LSS in the community
Maintains a high standard of excellence by promoting a positive, productive, and compassionate customer experience, always striving to exceed customer expectations, and treating patients, residents, guests, clients, families, physicians, visitors, vendors, and coworkers with dignity and respect
Promotes an atmosphere of teamwork, emphasizing a group effort in which the contribution of every employee is essential
Participates in weekly calls with the Home and Community Based Services team
Meets with both the Executive Director of Sales and Strategy and Executive Director of Home Care Services to develop and review quarterly goals and action plans
Completes quarterly key account profile
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in nursing, social work or business/marketing
- Prior marketing/sales experience within the home and community-based services industry preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care home health and hospice services
- Excellent speaking, writing, and sales skills
- Ability to travel daily within assigned territory
- Self-motivation to work independently and as a team member
- Advanced knowledge of computer technology; Database experience
- Must possess and demonstrate skills and ability to effectively present information to management and public groups
- Ability to interact effectively with referral sources, LSS team members, residents, clients, families, visitors, and the general public
- Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- This position will operate fairly independently and will require frequent local travel to Metro St. Louis LSS LPC’s to generate appropriate referrals and program enrollments with emphasis on hospice, private duty, and home health
- The individual must be comfortable in a clinical environment and have a general knowledge of medical terminology
Other Qualifications:
Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) requires drivers of licensed company vehicles and those using their own vehicles for business purposes have the appropriate driver’s license, insurance coverage, and meet the auto liability carrier’s driver’s criteria.

Some exposure to outside weather conditions in the course of travel; Minimal exposure to infectious diseases and blood borne pathogens; Minimal exposure to chemicals and hazardous waste.
