Additional Information

HDI offers a competitive compensation package. Salary for this position can range from $60,000 - $85,000+ annually (including incentives/bonuses), based on experience and achievement of goals. In addition to pay, comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Life, and 401k with a company match program. We also provide a company vehicle and cover travel expenses.

We are looking for an Outside Retail Sales Representative to help us manage and grow our territory in Central California.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of an Outside Retail Sales Representative.

• Meet and exceed budgeted sales and gross margin goals monthly and YTD.
• Prepare sales plans for key accounts and targeted prospects.
• Meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Understand Horizon Distribution’s value proposition, service abilities and product offering.
• Maintain constant and clear communication with Sales Manager on suggestions for process improvement and new opportunities
• Make joint sales calls with manufacturer sales reps to grow new and existing accounts.
• Maintain a regular call schedule.
• Plan effective sales calls.
• Grow existing accounts by continually looking for new opportunities.
• Developing multiple contacts in your accounts.
• Strive to be a value-added sales person by always looking for ways to save the customer both time and money while also helping our customers grow their businesses.
• Document cost savings and report to the customer.
• Display consistent “can-do,” positive attitude. Strive to constantly improve.

Qualifications

• Must have two or more years as an outside sales representative. Industry related experience is

preferred but not required.

• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), self-motivated, personable, well organized, and work well independently and with other team members.
• Proficient working with technology including, but not limited to, computers and scanners, MS Office, email, CRM and researching online.
• Must have ability to identify and develop prospects.
• Some college education or equivalent.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel overnight for approx. 2 nights per week going south and 1 night out per week going north.
