Now Hiring - Citi - Electronic Trading and Sales Associate in New York, NY

The Macro trading team of Global Spread Products is seeking a candidate to work closely with traders and risk management teams on the eSales strategy, trading controls, and the monitoring for Low Touch Activity (LTA) strategies. The role will support the trading desk on Automated Market Making/Low Touch Algo trading, and the ETF trading desk. The successful candidate will understand the granularities of the evolving corporate bond market structure and existing and future technology infrastructures, and work closely with internal partners to implement the sales, quant and trading strategies. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate to work alongside some of the most exciting quantitative and technological developments in electronic trading while building and supporting a robust control infrastructure alongside the trading desk.

The ideal candidate will have a well-diversified background, with:

• Experience working with sales and trading desks and in-house compliance/control teams to define or implement trading controls or monitoring protocols
• A basic understanding of technology infrastructure and workflows
• Exposure to eTrading principles and protocols
• Strong product knowledge in Fixed Income, particularly Credit, Munis and/or Securitized Markets

Responsibilities include:

• Represent the Business in responding to inquiry on established or planned trading strategies, test procedures and other projects.
• Track and manage ongoing LTA required activities, such as threshold reviews, governance forums, and independent test requirements.
• Develop executive level presentations and metrics to communicate team strategy, accomplishments and goals.
• Maintain a robust inventory of the electronic venues and broker sites which the business engages.
• Engage with business and risk areas in discussions on our market’s structure and participants in order to establish the proper control framework for each product.
• Define and drive projects related to establishing or preserving best-in-class monitoring, reporting, and controls for LTA strategies.
• Stay familiar with eTrading work slate, ensuring business strategy considers regulatory impact and actively assist the New Product Approval Process
• Understand and interpret the firm’s LTA policies, including and not limited to, those regulatory requirements offered by the OCC, PRA, etc.
• Identify, escalate and mitigate business and operational risks
• Work closely with the trading, sales and quant desks on eSales and eTrading strategies, in conjunction with technology builds.

Experience, Skills and Capabilities

• At least 3 years of Business, product management or technology role at a major financial institution or regulatory authority
• Fixed income product knowledge
• Experience working with technology groups, becoming familiar with infrastructure, components and workflows
• Ability to interpret policies and regulations to extract relevant information and direction
• Excellent communication skills and strong intellectual curiosity
• Ability to take ownership and provide direction to support functions.
• Analytical skills, such a BI or query tools, is a plus
