The Internet Truck & Equipment Sales - role will be responsible to train under the mentorship of the Director of Sales as well as New and Used Sales Management, and other dealership personnel assigned to mentor specific functions/disciplines.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Sell medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers as assigned.
- Meet or exceed objectives for equipment deliveries as established by the dealership.
- Complete the MPG training curriculum within 12 months.
- Complete TMI (Truck Marketing Institute)/Z Factor training within 12 months.
- Know and understand equity and values.
- Attend all MPG, Peterbilt, and third party training classes as assigned.
- Study truck and equipment specifications to improve knowledge of product performance and application.
- Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the sale of new and medium heavy-duty trucks, and trailers.
- Develop and work with all social media platforms in accordance with MPG policies.
- Gather market data and conduct research.
- Respond to customer electronic inquiries from varied sources (engaging within a few minutes of inquiry).
- Work with marketing to post trucks on publication websites, print media and other promotions.
- Produce “walk around” marketing videos for all used trucks.
- Produce “walk around” marketing videos for new trucks.
- Utilize the Company CRM (Arcadium) system to enter prospects, opportunities, and customer contact (visits) information, etc.
- Develop customer relationships.
- Develop customer presentations.
- Secure customer commitments.
- Introduce customer to parts and service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership.
- Deliver sold equipment to end purchaser.
- Collaborate with fellow employees and suppliers
- Follow up on all details pertaining to orders and transaction paperwork
- Attend sales and training meetings.
- Attend industry events/open houses/golf outings.
- Maintain professional appearance.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Education
High School graduate or GED required.
Prior experience in heavy-duty truck sales preferred.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills with fundamental computer operations, spreadsheets, web applications, search engine optimization (SEO), word processing, database, e-mail, and CRM software.
Language Skills
The ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, legal documents, and government regulations
The ability to write reports, and business correspondence.
The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, common inquires, or complaints, from customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
The ability of performing basic math as well as calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, statistics, area, circumference, and volume.
The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting, and possessing an understanding of the appropriate time to speak.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a valid CDL driver’s license or be able to attain a CDL driver’s license within six months of hire date and meet insurability requirements with the Company’s insurance company. (The Director of Sales must approve any exception to this requirement in writing.)
Travel
Seventy-five percent of time will be travel between MPG locations. Overnight stay may be required.
