The Waldinger Corporation, a full-service mechanical, sheet metal, electrical and service contractor, is seeking a leader of business development to join our high performing and innovative team. Reporting to the President of the Omaha Division, this individual will create, cultivate, and develop relationships with community and business leaders that deliver long-term revenue opportunities. The role requires a dynamic leader who has demonstrated expertise in communicating value, building relationships, and delivering on promises.
The leader of business development will be responsible for creating and effectively implementing a sales strategy. This leader will be the face of the company in the community and will champion the brand at events and meetings. Setting and achieving targets based on key performance indicators is critical for success.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a competitive marketplace for an organization of the highest integrity. Additionally, they will need to understand the importance of partnering with a talented operations team to navigate and overcome hurdles to deliver the results that are sold.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current and prospective clients to generate new business opportunities.
- Establishes and coordinates business development activities, both internal and external. Including attending applicable events and other meetings to stay abreast of market conditions, competition, and to establish relationships with clients and prospects.
- Works as a partner with project management team to enhance and develop new and current relationships.
- Demonstrates an understanding of customer needs and constraints by researching, preparing, listening, and bringing forward customized solutions.
- Responds effectively to client requests, resolves critical issues, and meets all commitments in a timely manner.
- Recommends strategies and prepares regularly for dealing with obstacles, client objections or competitive situations.
- Champions the Waldinger brand highlighting our partnership approach and the successful outcomes it creates for customers and communities.
- Build and implement a plan to expand Waldinger’s footprint and build positive top-of-mind awareness.
- Champions business development meetings with leadership sharing insights in meetings and submitting activity and results reports.
- Lead the proposal process collaborating with others to build a compelling case for customers that has sound projections, accurate timelines, and articulates added value.
- Build and maintain a customer relationship management (CRM) tracking system. Use data to demonstrate progress and outcomes.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results, supporting other business initiatives, learning from mistakes, and celebrating success.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business development, business management, construction management, or related field
- Business Development experience (prefer 5-15 years) with a successful track record of building relationships. The ideal candidate will have business development experience in construction.
- Proven ability to establish profitable relationships with decision-makers at companies and organizations.
- Outstanding presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Market knowledge
- Ability to travel as needed
