Summary
The Membership Specialist is responsible for consistently growing the club’s member base by proactively developing long-term relationships with current and prospective members and continuously prospecting for new members by offering expert-level knowledge of club services, programs, and products. The Membership Specialist works to establish meaningful connections and inspire current and prospective members to achieve their fitness goals. The Membership Specialist is also responsible for developing and maintaining individual business plans to drive membership acquisition and club revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively develop relationships with new and existing members by providing unmatched customer service
- Demonstrate sales success by achieving and exceeding daily, weekly, and monthly member acquisition and retention goals
- Prepare and deliver on individual business plans.
- Conduct club tours for new and prospective members; utilize a consultative sales approach to determine needs and offer solutions.
- Prospect and conduct lead generation initiatives to actively build a network of future members, including outbound calling and referral follow-up.
- Develop relationships with the community in alignment with company brand, mission, and vision.
- Continuously identify unique prospecting opportunities
- Collaborate with Club Manager and Health Services Manager to ensure effective onboarding and strong retention of members.
- Build rapport, work collaboratively with team members, and create lasting relationships with prospective and current members to consistently grow club business.
Compensation: Hourly Base Pay (annualized at $31K) + Commission + Performance Incentive
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 to 4 years of experience in sales or customer service
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport and credibility.
- Experience with meeting and exceeding goals in a performance-based culture
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or lift up to 50 pounds.
