As the largest privately held service provider of unemployment cost control, employment verification and tax credit services in our industry, Thomas & Company is looking for a Director for Strategic Alliances.
The position of Director of Strategic Alliances is responsible for building strong business partnership strategies to expand and enhance our service offering. This person must successfully generate and develop joint marketing and service delivery initiatives, while building and maintaining strong relationships with partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy and begin the process for building partnerships including but not limited to:
- System integrations with client employers and third-party payroll, ATS, and HRIS platforms
- Complementary employer service providers
- White / Grey labeling engagements
- Develop and manage a partnership strategy, identifying top opportunities to partner along with anticipated ROI.
- Strong understanding of relevant systems and workflows.
- Document and implement sales process using Salesforce.
- Ability to explain company resources and tools to develop integrated system partnerships.
- Negotiate with alliance partners on business needs and technology integration projects.
- Work with Implementations to train partners on using the proper systems.
- Lead negotiations and personally conduct all partnership communications to ensure mutual understanding.
- Develop and own the quarterly/yearly revenue targets for the partnership organization.
- Create and implement a partnership strategy to increase the reach and impact of our client's ongoing efforts in advancing our client's key strategic focus areas.
- Assume responsibility for existing partners, and where relevant, building relationships and leveraging those relationships to greater collective impact.
- Expand and diversify the pipeline of prospective collaborations.
- Create and drive a relationship management program to support partners and internal stakeholders.
- Champion the partnership internally, communicating the value, answering questions, and building adoption across internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including but not limited to operations, technology, risk management, privacy & security, legal, and finance resources to structure and execute business initiatives, lead analysis, and develop and communicate final recommendations for growing partner relationships.
- Develop systems and procedures in support of the identification, engagement, and development of strategic partnerships.
- Develop and manage reporting and financial tracking of strategic partnership activities.
- Form and manage partner agreements.
- Deliver professional presentations to potential partner organizations with the ability to persuade and close.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting of pipeline, strategic partnerships, and management activities.
- Research trends, competition, and funding sources to strategically drive the business development pipeline.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in strategic sales or business development.
- 7+ years of exact industry knowledge
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Able to travel to meet and liaise with potential partners.
- Proficient in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to manage and organize considerable amounts of information into actionable items.
- Ability to drive operational initiatives and achieve goals with little to no supervision.
- Ability to co-create and execute an integrated strategy spanning multiple stakeholders.
- Relationship building - this will be a critical piece of collective performance optimization
- Propensity for data visualization and communication via a digestible medium.
- Ability to not only ideate and design but also ensure execution of strategic initiatives.
