GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive profitable growth of aerospace and defense products. Expand relationships with existing customers while cultivating relationships with potential customers to win new business and ensure long-term business success aligned with company strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute the companys business development strategy, aligned with the overall company strategy.
- Lead initiatives directly aimed at generating new business within the aerospace and defense markets.
- Remain knowledgeable and stay abreast of current defense requirements, current and proposed programs of interest, and procurement opportunities.
- Accurately forecast demand for products through accurate forecasting methodologies.
- Identify new market opportunities for expansion and diversification while keeping a close eye on industry trends, competition, and technological advancements.
- Identify opportunities and build a business case to add capabilities and capacity to meet customer needs.
- Recommend strategic adjustments and innovative approaches based on market insights.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Conduct sales presentations and demonstrations to showcase our capabilities and solutions to potential customers.
- Negotiate and close sales agreements, contracts, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at client organizations.
- Understand customer needs, requirements, and pain points to propose tailored solutions that address their specific needs.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure customer satisfaction and retention throughout the entire engagement lifecycle.
- Develop, oversee, and continually improve customer order processing procedures.
- Work closely with the team to identify available and forecasted capacity as well as key areas for business development focus.
- Understand cost structure and market pricing to develop profitable customer proposals.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, production, and quality, to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Provide valuable feedback and insights to improve operational processes and enhance current offerings in order to elevate the overall customer experience.
- Analyze account performance, identifying areas for potential pricing adjustments, program enhancements, or policy revisions.
- Full supervisory responsibility for assigned personnel including employee evaluations, employee counseling and/or discipline, approving any absences or overtime and making any recommendations for hiring, termination, pay changes, job changes, and training.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in business administration, engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years experience in sales and business development
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, technologies, and applications.
- Excellent sales and negotiations skills with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct market research, identify trends, and develop effective strategies.
- Sound experience utilizing ERP and CRM tools.
- Strong decision-making skills with a data-driven and fact-based orientation.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical information to a broad audience.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:
- Understanding of ISO9[please apply online] or equivalent.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), Global Shop, or equivalent program.
- Understanding of engineering concepts relating to product design is a plus
- Understanding of firearms and Sporting Goods is a plus.
- Ability to work independently offsite to achieve business goals.
- Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures.
JOB CONDITIONS:
- The incumbent will be required to work in an office-type environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Other working conditions may include frequent interruptions, working alone, and exposure to computer monitors.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $115,000.00 per year
