Job Overview:
The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for selling all of TIE Industrials products and services to current and potential clients within a designated geographical territory while managing the performance of Business Development Specialists in the assigned area of responsibility, typically a geographical region.
Responsibilities:
1. Sell all of TIE Industrials products and services using both traditional and nontraditional selling methods, as well as relationship building, in an effort to achieve maximum market penetration with existing and new customers in an assigned geographical territory.
2. Support the prospecting of new customers by using using cold-calling, leads generated by referrals or lead lists, fellow employees and/or word of mouth, with the ultimate goal of growing the number of customers in the sales territory and exceeding the sales goal.
3. Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals
4. Monitor and manage customer open orders, using reports generated from Salesforce and Odoo, as well as direct customer interaction, in order to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Take action when issues and/or non-conformities exist.
5. Monitor and manage aging of customer orders using Salesforce and Odoo, with the ultimate goal of getting all customer repairs approved before reaching 60 days of age.
6. Assist Finance as necessary with customer past due invoices.
7. Judiciously manage expenses associated with efforts in seeking profitable revenue generation.
8. Check in regularly with direct reports to get updates on activity and to provide coaching, direction and/or assistance as needed.
9. Coach direct reports on selling techniques, sales strategies and tactics with the ultimate goal of helping them to grow revenue.
10. Review activity of direct reports to ensure appropriate levels of activity and success.
11. Participate in joint sales calls with direct reports to evaluate selling technique and overall approach while selling beyond the immediate plant opportunity wherever possible.
12. Maintain relationships with key decision makers at the largest, most influential customers of your direct reports.
Qualifications & Requirements:
1. Position requires a high school diploma, or its equivalent, in addition to a strong demonstrated knowledge of inside or call center-based sales, typically attained by a Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or a related field and a minimum of three (5) years experience in an inside sales role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Demonstrated ability to sell products and services using phone interaction and digital communication tools.
3. Effective presentation skills required.
4. Demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels within an organization required.
5. Demonstrated ability in organizing, planning and multi-tasking.
6. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the internal and external contacts detailed under Business Relationships.
7. Demonstrated ability to effectively function independently and in a team environment in a leadership role.
8. Demonstrated ability to work under critical time pressures and deadlines.
9. Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
10. Demonstrated ability to use general office equipment and specific equipment related to the position.
Decision-Making: Problems encountered are numerous and sometimes routine and repetitive. The nonroutine problems are typically related in nature to the routine problems. Occasionally, problems are unique. Judgment is required in identifying, prioritizing, analyzing and resolving problems, and usually involves analysis of information from a couple sources. Incumbent is expected to resolve problems using prior knowledge and available resources, with limited supervision. Consultation with incumbents leader is required for complex problems or those that do not have a clear solution.
