Do you want to be a part of a cutting edge industry and market? Does your current sales role really help shape the future? Are you motivated by uncapped upside?

As a Solar Specialist, you are the day-to-day face of Blue Horizon Energy. You'll help educate prospects on how solar energy could add value to their business, design proposals to meet each customer's specific circumstances and needs, and guide customers through the research-to-purchase process. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales and is a base + commission opportunity with uncapped earning potential.

Our ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, process-driven, and collaborative in supporting customers as they transition to clean energy.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Your primary role is to develop new business opportunities, leading to at least three sales presentations per week.
  • Through a consultative sales process, you will focus on selling value and aligning customer objectives with our best-in-class solar solutions.
  • As an outside sales professional, you will take ownership of your sales territory, its market dynamics, and its prospective customer base.
  • Within the first 30 days, you will learn how to articulate our products and benefits.
  • Within the first 90 days, you will successfully engage with and generate at least $2M in sales prospects.
  • Within the first 6 months, you will be able to consistently generate new opportunities, maintaining a diverse and productive pipeline of prospects.
  • By 12 months, you will be expected to close at least eight new clients.

Experience, skills and ability:

Those successful in this position are quick learners, have the discipline to follow a structured sales process, are natural with their follow up, focused on attention-to-detail, and spend more than 50% of their time outside of the office in customer and prospect-facing activities. Most importantly, you possess a genuine interest in helping business leaders achieve their operational goals through solar energy with a positive and proactive approach.

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in similar consultative sales roles.
  • Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Email, and CRM systems.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and a good driving record.

Preferred:

  • Previous technical, construction, or capital sales experience.
  • Solar energy sales experience.
