Responsibilities of the Catering Sales Coordinator:

• Proactively pursue and generate leads for catering services within the convention center.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive client database for potential catering opportunities.
• Conduct persuasive sales presentations and meetings with clients to showcase catering offerings.
• Build, cultivate, and nurture relationships with clients, event planners, and organizations.
• Demonstrate a keen understanding of client needs and preferences to tailor catering proposals accordingly.
• Act as the primary liaison and point of contact for clients throughout the catering planning process.
• Effectively present and elucidate catering menus to clients, emphasizing the diverse range of offerings.
• Collaborate closely with clients to personalize menus based on specific event requirements.
• Offer expert recommendations on food and beverage selections to meet client expectations.
• Collaborate seamlessly with catering and event coordination teams to ensure the successful execution of events.
• Assist in coordinating logistical aspects, including setup, service, and breakdown during events.
• Address promptly and efficiently any client concerns or requests related to catering services.
• Set ambitious yet achievable sales targets aligned with catering revenue objectives.
• Generate comprehensive and regular reports on sales activities, lead status, and conversions.
• Provide detailed updates to management regarding sales performance and potential business opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with marketing teams to strategize and promote catering services effectively.
• Participate actively in industry events and networking opportunities to expand the client base.
• Contribute innovative ideas for creating impactful marketing materials and successful promotional campaigns.

Skills of the Catering Sales Coordinator

• Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, with a demonstrable ability to influence and close deals.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively engage with diverse clients.
• Proficiency in understanding and adapting to client needs, ensuring tailored and compelling proposals.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple client interactions.
• Strong familiarity with catering trends, menu planning, and the nuances of event coordination.
• Understanding of the conventions and meetings industry is a definite advantage.

Experience for the Catering Sales Coordinator:

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 2 years experience in catering sales, sales, or a relevant field.
• Strong familiarity with catering trends, menu planning, and the nuances of event coordination.
• Understanding of the conventions and meetings industry is a definite advantage.

Pay Range: $18-$23 DOE
