The Director of Account Management is responsible for establishing the strategic direction and managing the daily operations of the account management team. This client-facing role is critical, demanding exceptional problem-solving skills and organizational prowess to effectively handle client interactions and project complexities. The Director ensures effective client management and project delivery, providing leadership, mentorship, and support for the team of Account Managers and Project Coordinators. Reporting directly to the President, this position requires substantial cross-functional collaboration within the organization, underscoring its importance in maintaining client satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement account management strategies to maintain and grow relationships with existing clients.
- Lead the account management team, setting objectives, reviewing performance, and providing coaching and development.
- Collaborate with various departments in the business such as the R&D and manufacturing teams to ensure client projects are delivered on time and to specification.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key clients to understand their evolving needs and to ensure continuous improvement of our services.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service and consistent quality.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the beauty industry to expand the company's client base.
- Address and resolve client issues or conflicts proactively, maintaining a solution-oriented and client-focused approach.
- Identify and mitigate project risk to avoid delays and cost overturn
- Develop and implement strategies and processes to increase efficiency within the department
- Prepare reports and presentations to update management and clients on progress and performance
- Collaborate closely with the leadership team to contribute to and align with corporate strategies, ensuring departmental objectives support the overall business vision.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in account/project management or business development, with at least 6 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the beauty, personal care, and/or pharmaceutical industry, particularly in contract manufacturing or similar B2B environments.
- Proven track record of managing and growing client accounts and leading high-performing teams.
- General knowledge of product and packaging development
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with Google Business Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and ERP systems
- Demonstrated comfort with technology, with the ability to leverage digital tools and platforms to enhance account management efficiency and client engagement.
- Exceptional leadership acumen, with a demonstrated capacity to cultivate, mentor, and elevate team performance, emphasizing a culture of excellence, professional development, and collaborative success.
