OBJECTIVE:

Providing mainly technical and commercial support, including the negotiation process. Supporting marketing activities as required.

REPORTS TO:

General Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in the bidding/quoting and negotiation processes, purchase order, order acknowledgement, delivery, and onsite logistics for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Work in cooperation with the NL Sales and Concept and Sales Engineer(s) to develop and manage customer relationships at key accounts and support successful execution of sales activity.
• Enter and track all projects and update projects to reflect an accurate status and to deal with conversions of projects
• Assist in account planning and forecasting to help set and achieve annual sales, revenue growth targets and profitability goals
• Knowledge of the project cycle in Automation equipment in commercial facilities is essential, as is the ability to influence the variety of stakeholders through the process from design to delivery
• Is accountable for the setup of sale proposals including technical description, project condition and terms, scheduling, acceptance criteria, and costs.
• Perform other duties outside the normal scope of job description at the discretion of management

REQUIREMENTS:

• Perform all technical, cost, and schedule aspects of proposal tasks associated with AWL accounts, including risk management, capacity management, schedule and do negotiations, metrics generation, earned value, and status reporting.
• Monitor market and competitor activities and adjust to changing environment
• Planning and coordinating the proposal process;
• Effective communication with excellent verbal skills. Ability to prepare concepts in written and pictorial format.
• Ensures excellent communication with the customer to maintain and extend a warm relationship.
• Experience in Automotive proposal generation in contract acceptance criteria , quality requirements from automotive customer and align with AWL company guidelines
• Required (5-10) years in application engineering in automotive metals interior components
• Required (5) Years in Laser and welding applications relating to sheet metal structures in Automotive such as seating and IP Cross beams
• Advanced Engineering understanding of Robotics, peripheral equipment and Laser Industry standards
• Experience in tooling fixturing, part dimensional data, geo tolerances
• Welding background in weld quality, including penetration, heat effect zones, inspection processes
• Providing or doing Cost Engineering to communicate about determination of the cost price to all parties internal to AWL
• Work with Planning Department to align the offering process and planning internal schedule and resource planning
• Good understanding of mechatronics;
• Participate in available lessons learned, norms and hour rates of project review
• Financial insight in material-, labor- and processing costs; understanding of overall business cost
• Administrative processing of orders and offerings;
• Control technology, production philosophies and manufacturing processes;
• Basic material characteristics, steel, high strength steel properties
• Excel; Word: Power Point, Solid Works preferred.
• Calculate solution processing cycle times, with manufacturing efficiency calculations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Proficiency in English

EDUCATION:

BS or 2 to 4 year Technical Degree in related field. Minimum Mechanical CAD skills are required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: LOCATION: Metro Detroit MI

Office, automobile, public

transportation and factories.

TRAVEL:

Minimum of 40-50% travel required; Ability to travel domestic and internationally. Valid passport required or ability to obtain one quickly.
