Full description of the position

MIT (Morgan Industrial Technology) is the industry leader in orbital welding equipment sales, rental, service, and training. We are looking for a self-motivated and well-spoken sales representative to join our team. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, possess above average people skills, have a high mechanical aptitude, and be committed to his/her success.

The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for increasing sales throughout the assigned demographic by prospecting and developing business with key decision makers of mechanical contractors, fabricators, and end user processors in the pharmaceutical, aerospace, food, dairy and beverage industries. The SDR will proactively drive the sales cycle from prospecting to close and is expected to be the subject matter expert for MIT's complete line of orbital welding equipment.

This position requires mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, and a high level of business acumen. The ability to communicate and develop relationships with customers is critical. A successful candidate will be detail oriented, able to multi-task, and be a team player.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Meet or exceed monthly sales revenue goals
  • Prospecting sales behaviors primarily via phone, some travel required for face-to-face meetings
  • High mechanical aptitude to understand products and make appropriate recommendations per application
  • Process and manage customer quotes and orders via Quickbooks
  • Maintain all customer correspondence and pipeline data via Hubspot
  • Regular and consistent communication via phone and email throughout the sales cycle to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Relationship management with internal/external customers

Required Experience: Relative industrial sales experience

Education/Training

  • High school diploma/GED
  • College credits; preferred
  • Bachelor of Science; preferred
  • Technical (mechanical) emphasis, preferred
