Job Description: Pet Counselor

Petland is looking for Pet Counselors who are dedicated to matching the right pet with the right customer and meeting the needs of both. To our customers who already have pets, pet counselors are dedicated to enhancing their knowledge and enjoyment of the human-animal bond.

Job Duties:

• Follow the 5-Step sales process, overcome objections, and drive sales forward.
• Strive to meet and exceed sales goals and bonus incentive targets
• Provide dynamic customer service, while educating our customers through teaching proper pet care.
• To maximize productivity, memorize and utilize the Petland systems, such as the Petland Mission, 5-Step Sale, 4 Basic Needs, C.A.P, Pets For A Lifetime and AdoptA Pet.
• Maintain excellent animal husbandry for the pets by performing opening, daily and closing procedures and assisting in maintaining a clean, organized and safe store environment.
• Assist in Community Service projects in and out of the store as directed.
• Assist Animal Care Technicians with any additional animal care as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements and Skills:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• 2 years high volume sales experience preferred.
• Computer skills required: Point of sale experience preferred
• Experience overcoming objections and is self driven
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask

This is a commission only position, we are looking for driven sales associates to join our team with the intent of maximizing oppurtunities and exceeding sales goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 40 per week
