Job description

Acoufelt supplies architectural finishes to workplace, mixed-use, and public buildings to make spaces look better and sound better.

The Business Development team works with design teams in regions nationwide to support the architectural design process and support projects thru specification working alongside Outside Sales team members and Inside Sales team members assigned to the region.

Acoufelt is searching for an individual who

  • Has experience in the architectural products industry
  • Sales experience
  • Experience with any type of blueprints, construction drawings, manufacturing prints will be a plus.
  • Construction industry experience is preferred. (such as Interior Designer, Project Manager, Estimator, Project Coordinator, Superintendent, Subcontractor, Installer, or involved in supplying material to construction industry).

Job Title: Business Development Associate - Inside Sales

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Associate to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be to support the specification process for target accounts in a designated geography. You will be responsible for developing opportunities, establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders, and guiding projects through the specification process. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of the interior design industry, and a proven track record in driving sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new opportunities into qualified quoting opportunities through relationships with and support for interior design contacts at target accounts within your market.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with interior designers within target accounts to understand their needs and build rapport.
  • Follow up on new opportunities and inquiries, qualifying prospects and identifying important project opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Outside Sales team to set up project presentations, showcasing our capabilities and reviewing project scope.
  • Work closely with the outside sales team to support demand creation and market penetration efforts.
  • Collaborate with interior designers using listening skills and questions to highlight the value and benefits of Acoufelt products.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities, customer interactions, and opportunity progress using CRM software.
  • Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies accordingly.

Requirements:

  • 5 years experience in sales or business development role
  • 2 years construction / building materials / architectural products industry experience preferred
  • Proven experience in customer service or sales, preferably within the architectural product industry.
  • Strong understanding of the interior design industry, including knowledge of key players, market trends, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other relevant sales and productivity tools.
  • Periodic travel may be required to attend events or training. Approximately 1-5 times per year.
