Full description of the position

De La Fontaine Industries, Inc. seeks Business Development Manager in Woburn, MA: Solicit architectural firms recommended by distributors and end users in the territory; Solicit potential customers, assess their wants and needs, and obtain information on their Hollow Metal business and market segments in which they compete; Follow up with customers, compare bids between our company and the competition, and close the job, pending obtaining architect approval; Develop long-term relationships with prospects, through managing and interpreting their requirements; Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education; Provide after-sales support services and provide technical back-up as required; Attend site meetings to provide special installation instructions to installers on specialty products; Arrange and carry out product training; Attend site visits after installation as needed by distributor and GC; Organize distributor training on Hollow Metal; Bring key distributor personnel to different facilities to help them understand the process of production; Combine technical knowledge with sales skills to act as a primary contact for product demonstrations, prospecting business needs assessments, and the development of technical specifications; Prepare and present technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets prospective needs on-site at prospective client locations within the United States; and, Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events within the United States.

Requirements: High School / GED education and ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or a related sales representative (Manufacturing or Technical Products) occupation. Knowledge of the commercial door frame and hardware industry; Knowledge of the Hollow Metal industry; Knowledge of reading plans and quotes; and, Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel), AutoCAD, and Solidworks. National travel required approximately 25% of the time for customer and job site visits/meetings. Remote working or telecommuting permitted in all U.S. States, in accordance with company policy.
