Full description of the position

Join our team as a Sales & Account Manager for our solar and roofing product lines; overseeing both sales and service accounts for our family-owned roofing company. This pivotal role requires you to ensure optimal sales production while upholding safety, quality, efficiency, and an exceptional customer experience for residential solar installation projects performed by our field installation crews. Additionally, you'll assist with organizing, motivating, managing, and training field crews in relation to your projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimate solar systems and roofing projects for residential and commercial roofs.
  • Own and develop pipeline of new business from current customers and new leads
  • Present professional roof and PV quotes to clients with exceptional follow-up and customer service.
  • Collaborate with the existing sales and production teams to configure solar systems and provide quotation support, ensuring competitive positioning and profitability.
  • Assist in creating and meeting sales and production targets set by management.
  • Coordinate with electrical contractors to prepare homes for PV installation.
  • Support staff in preparing NEM and permit applications.
  • Manage project material orders and client communication regarding scheduling for installation and maintenance.
  • Supervise all aspects of solar construction projects to ensure timely completion within budget.
  • Optimize crew structure and schedules for maximum productivity.
  • Conduct pre-construction project reviews to determine resource requirements.
  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical work on roof and ground-mounted solar projects with confidence.
  • Support field troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical and PV systems, resolving issues efficiently.
  • Lead pre and post-battery construction meetings, including commissioning and training sessions.
  • Train field technicians on safety, quality, customer service, efficiency, and administrative tasks.
  • Conduct quality control and safety inspections, providing feedback to relevant departments.
  • Handle administrative duties promptly and accurately, including documentation and data entry.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular status updates.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful project completion.

Skills:

  • 5+ years of electrical/solar experience, (2 years in a supervisory/leadership role preferred).
  • Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting solar and electrical blueprints.
  • Technical skills in installing and commissioning solar and battery systems for various manufacturers.
  • Electrical certification or C-10 license.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, G-Suite, MS Excel, MS Word, and construction management software.
  • Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong work ethic and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Comfortable working at heights and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to set up a ladder and climb up to 2 stories.
