Job Description

This job is based in Central Texas with regular travel to the San Antonio and Austin areas. More substantial travel may be necessary as growth dictates.

• The primary function of this job is to provide ongoing coordination with an extremely important current client in the utility industry that owns and operates multiple water and wastewater systems across central and south-central Texas and is rapidly expanding their business. SWE provides numerous services to this client, including master planning, development tracking, standards creation, service request and subdivision reviews, land and easement acquisition, infrastructure design, regulatory and permitting assistance, construction oversight, and other consulting services as requested. This role involves interfacing between this client and members of the SWE team to help ensure all assigned tasks/projects are progressing in a timely manner and that each side has the information necessary to make informed decisions and complete the task at hand.
• The desired candidate should be capable of excellent communication, efficient time management, assuming responsibility, sound decision making, and should possess a problem-solving attitude.

Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Coordinate and monitor multiple project tasks, budgets, and schedules
• Collaborate internally with SWE team to ensure client needs are met
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials, other engineers/consultants, and contractors/vendors
• Attend regular meetings and conference calls with client and other team members
• Ensure meetings and other communications are properly documented and stored/filed appropriately
• Be able to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully, both written and orally
• Maintain flexibility in managing job tasks as deadlines and project priorities change
• Assist client in promptly addressing any challenges that may arise

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or higher, preferably in the field of engineering
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Project Management Professional (P.M.P.) designation is ideal but not required
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing water and/or wastewater projects from conception to completion, with knowledge of design concepts and regulatory requirements
• Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously, including project timeline/status, budget, contracts, easements, approvals, and any outstanding issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, surveyors, regulatory agencies, utility companies, attorneys, etc.
• Good organizational skills and punctuality are a must
• Experience with negotiations is a plus
• Basic computer software skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, etc.), Adobe Acrobat or PDF Exchange.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
