Compensation range:$120,000.00 to $130.000.00


As a Director, Business Development in Freight Forwarding at RXO, you will drive incremental revenue growth and proactively plan for renewals while acting as a single point of contact for the business unit. You will also collaborate with National (NAMs) and Strategic Account Managers (SAMs) to establish the overall Freight Forwarding account plan and resolve customer issues. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Promote RXOs full complement of forwarding solutions: Ocean Freight, Mexico and Canadian Cross Border solutions, Air Freight, Customs Brokerage, Transload and Warehouse solutions
  • Manage base of accounts to strengthen relationships and promote growth within accounts
  • Serve as the customers primary sales contact supporting their day-to-day activities
  • Adapt a consultative customer sales approach and serve as the customer advocate ensuring their needs are surpassed
  • Collaborate internally with National Sales, Operations, Agents, and Pricing departments to establish solutions with targeted customers
  • Build a pipeline of targets by prospecting for business through a variety of activities, including prospecting via phone, web meetings and perform in-person sales visits to uncover and develop new business
  • Translate business opportunities into incremental revenues through strong selling activities
  • Performs regular visits to qualified prospects and customers, in accordance with Managements directives, to drive the business and grow the companys revenue, market share and profitability
  • Builds relationships at all levels and represents the company in a professional manner, including making presentations
  • Self manages various administrative aspects (CRM, expense reports, etc.)
  • Achieves the annual growth KPIs (revenue, profit, volume)
  • Identify top opportunities to pursue during the CST (consignee selling trip)


What youll need to excel:

At a minimum, youll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 7 years of combined experience in global forwarding sales, third-party logistics, project management and/or logistics
  • Proven track record building forwarding relationships and business connecting all levels of freight forwarding and customs brokerage.


Itd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelors degree in Transportation
  • Availability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Experience in account management and customer issue resolution
