The Role

The Business Development Executive, will identify and develop new business opportunities. Build relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, and vendors. Evaluates existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn't. This individual will also be responsible for participating in networking and attending social events on behalf of the company.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the CEO, the Business Development Executive will grow revenue within the local market by developing and executing strategies, processes and best practices to obtain attractive opportunities that are a fit for Hermes Landscaping operations, resources, and financial objective
  • Responsible for creating and/or implementing tracking mechanisms to track increases in volume, growth, revenue, etc and drill down on data to quantify specific efforts and how they will lead to increases in volume, growth, revenue, etc.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • New client acquisition
  • Lead client interactions, communications, prequalification, proposals and presentations
  • Strengthen relationships by utilizing technical knowledge within relevant sectors and events, engaging key stakeholders when offering clients innovative solutions.
  • Communicating and promoting Hermes long standing brand and commitment to excellence and creating brand awareness in our ability to stand out as an innovative and reliable industry leader
  • Facilitate meetings with clients to understand client's organization and challenges, and provide customized solutions, communicating key competitive advantages Hermes can provide
  • Communicate and motivate operational and executive level involvement toward successful client meetings, win strategies and capture plan execution
  • Directs the sales team in development of new opportunities and Bid / No-Bid strategies/decisions
  • Improve get work efficiency and effectiveness by formulating lessons learned and best practices by conducting debrief meetings with clients, project management, production teams and leadership team members.
  • Identify and communicate competitor and market sector intelligence.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering or Construction Management
  • 5-10 years experience working in a General Manger or similar role supporting an organization. Construction or related business preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, computer application and negotiating skills.
  • Meet deadlines and multi-task with several projects at once.
  • Can prioritize and complete projects timely.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, define and implement solutions.
  • Strong work-ethic and willingness to fully engage in a variety of activities.
  • Desire to learn and continuously strive for improvement
  • Technical abilities to input and maintain database information
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in building services, HVAC, janitorial, plumbing, roofing, siding, or foundations is a plus.
  • Experience with home builders is a plus.
