Hanna Instruments is seeking a full-time Strategic Key Account Manager for our Smithfield, Rhode Island office reporting to the President of US Operations. The primary focus and responsibility of the Strategic Key Account Manager is to develop and grow prospective and existing key customer accounts in all market segments nationally. The ideal person will bring a wealth of industry expertise and past customer relationships in which to further solidify Hannas place in key market segments, such as food & beverage, drinking water, wastewater, etc.
The Strategic Key Account Manager has overall accountability for new relationships of commercial sales for Hanna with critical strategic collaborations, operational delivery, and follow-up. S/he will lead the overall key account strategy for Hanna and will make process improvements to excel customer success.
Job Responsibilities for a Key Account Manager:
- Identify, develop, and maintain strategic long-term trusting relationships with identified and potential key accounts and customers to accomplish organic growth and long-term company objectives.
- Provide long-term business collaboration to our key accounts by ensuring their successful onboarding as a customer, speedy follow up on questions and concerns and ensure they overall have a positive experience to ensure their loyalty while establishing a trusting relationship.
- Gather, report, and communicate customers' feedback on service, technology and product delivery as well as identify and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Provide resources and support to key accounts, ensuring they are up to date with the information related to the strategic collaboration, strategic needs, timelines, and contractual requirements to plan and deliver on time and with excellent customer experience.
- Provide updates both to key accounts and internally on progress of the relationship and critical plans going forward. Quarterly review meetings will be conducted internally to align business outlook.
- Define and lead the marketing strategy related to key accounts business to identify new leads, ensure marketing activities are in place to obtain the proper key account leads.
- Ensure that proper marketing collateral is developed and presented when meeting with a customer and any additional internal resources are brought in to meet with customers when necessary.
- Responsible and accountable for key decisions related to customer segmentation, pricing, and providing critical input to product strategy and roadmap prioritization.
- Lead the Commercial efforts to develop strategic collaborations with large companies identified as key accounts to Include revenue and contribution targets by year.
- Resolve any customer issues and handle risks mitigation as it relates to customers.
- Ensure that customer services and operations are aligned, leading the full end-to-end customer journey from sales to support.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience for a Strategic Key Account Manager:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Studies, etc.
- 7 years of proven experience in key account management
- Inspiring leader well-known in the industry with extensive experience in instrumentation sales.
- Significant knowledge and experience in sales, marketing, and operational delivery.
- Significant experience in customer key account activities in a related industry with minimal guidance.
- Exceptional network and relationships, well recognized and reputable.
- Extensive experience bringing innovation to solve complex and multi-dimensional issues from an operational, technical, financial, and human perspective.
- Proven ability to influence at the most senior level in external organizations.
- Organizational agility -- builds consensus through formal and informal channels and relationships; organizationally savvy.
- Customer focused and dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
- Integrity and trust an unwavering commitment to "doing the right thing" while being highly ethical.
- Ability to bring new knowledge of the external market, techniques, and processes related to key account management.
- Ability to travel 40%.
- Able to work on-site in Smithfield, Rhode Island office 4 days a week when not traveling.
