Job Description

Sales Engineers are the face of the company to our customers. Their role is to assess the customers requirements and propose the appropriate products. This is more than just product selection, as much of what we make is either custom or is a customized standard product. The Sales Engineer will be called upon to ensure that our team understands all the customers specifications and proposes the best possible solution.

Duties/Responsibilities

Provide technical support to salespeople and customers.

Participate in product and project estimating, quoting, and costing.

Enter sales, engineering and costing information into database.

Work with customers to obtain information essential for engineering development and design.

Provide customers with technical support and ensure customer understanding of their needs versus design and manufacturing capability.

Develop concepts and designs per customer specifications.

Provide input and guide product specifications for production.

Guide quality decision from a sales perspective.

Attend production meetings, costing meetings, and job kickoff meetings when necessary.

Travel to customer sites and participate in sales meetings.

Travel to and participate in trade shows.

Provide technical drawings to customers for quotation purposes, provide sales representatives with engineering information.

Provide technical support to manufacturing including, but not limited to answering technical questions, and making procedural suggestions.

Follow engineering procedure regarding technical drawings (creation, storage, revision, customer-supplied drawings, post job consolidation, etc.).

Contact vendors for quote purposes.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Requires an Associates Degree in Drafting, Industrial Technology, or related technical field with at least 2 years of related experience.

Requires excellent interpersonal, organizational, negotiation, communication, and planning skills.

Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and being technically minded.

Ability to interpret assembly drawings and instructions is required.

Proficiency in SolidWorks.

Proficiency in Microsoft O365.

Professional appearance.

Solid communication skills.

Attention to detail.

Ability to multitask.

$45-60,000 per year

8am to 5pm, 5 days per week
