Job Purpose
Desire for a full-time Life Insurance Case Manager to support a growing insurance and financial services organization based in Blue Bell PA. The purpose of this role is providing advisor support to coordinate and expedite the processing of new Life insurance applications. The candidate will be able to work effectively with our internal team of professionals as well as numerous independent advisors operating from geographically detached locations. The applicant will be responsible for successfully processing life insurance applications from the time they are received through the point the policy is placed inforce. This includes quality review and submission of the application, ordering and follow-up on requirements necessary for underwriting approval, follow-up on delivery requirements, premium management and policy issue. This position requires a significant amount of relationship management thus the ideal candidate enjoys cultivating relationships with a wide variety of internal and external parties and working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Proactively managing our life insurance case management process which requires frequent communication and coordination among life insurance advisors, insurance carriers and other third-party vendors that are integral to the insurance underwriting process. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Precise review of new insurance applications and any supporting documentation prior to submission to the insurance carrier.
- Ordering underwriting requirements including Attending Physician Statements, Exams, supplemental forms and other medical requirements prior to submission to the insurance carrier.
- Maintaining an internal database documenting work activities and communications on assigned cases while acting as a conduit among the advisor and the internal departments of the insurance carriers.
- Organizing and prioritizing case workloads to ensure each case is processed, issued and placed in a timely manner. This includes frequent communications with the underwriting department of the insurance carrier as well as the independent advisors to provide a case status and set expectations appropriately.
- Conducting follow-up with our advisors via telephone, e-mail and/or fax to communicate any outstanding underwriting requirements; e.g., policy delivery requirements, application amendments, health statements and premiums, to make certain of the judicious placement of policies.
- Assisting advisors with client underwriting service requests.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; College degree in business or related field preferred.
- Three or more years of life insurance Case Management experience with a strong understanding of Underwriting, New Business preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills are a must to successfully connect with our internal and external partners.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy; the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines is critical.
- High level of technical aptitude & PC skills; must be proficient with Windows based applications especially Word, Excel, Outlook , SmartOffice and have the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Demonstrated history of successful relationship management; ability to make sound decisions and deliver difficult news in a constructive manner while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Capacity and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment; exercising autonomous judgment and problem solving skills when necessary.

Base level compensation will be commensurate with experience.
