JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Sales Assistant has a variety of responsibilities, ranging from meeting, greeting, understanding the latest vehicle technologies and completing necessary paperwork to facilitate the purchase of a new or preowned vehicle. The primary responsibility of a Sales Assistant is to assist the sales department in a manner that allows maximum potential for your sales team. A Sales Assistant must have a thorough knowledge of vehicle brands and models sold by the dealership and must be able discuss vehicle characteristics, options and demonstrate how to use this technology. The sales assistant regularly transition to qualified Sales Representatives earning substantially more income. Position is entry level, opportunities for advancement are numerous.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma
• College degree in Finance/Accounting or marketing a plus but not required
• Demonstrate subject matter expertise
• Professional appearance and disposition
• Productivity through time management
• Strong communication skills; listening
• Effective relationship-building skills
• Post-sale relationship management

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand automobiles sold by dealership by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features; compares competitive models
• Demonstrates automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features; test drives with customers; explaining vehicle warranties and services
• Provides sales management information by completing reports
• Updates job requirements and vehicle brand knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
• Enhances dealership reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
