Main responsibilities and key tasks
The Sales Representative is responsible for managing day to day sales activity for assigned accounts, working closely with customer service, quotes/quote file, receivables/credit, product availability, target account lists, etc. This position also makes sales calls with distributor representatives to promote Pinnacle Polymers' products.
As a direct connection between our Team and our Customers, the Sales Representative upholds and promotes Pinnacle's 6 Core Values: People, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork, and Sustainability, in addition to the following functions:
- Communicate with the commercial team regarding all opportunities, forecasts and current sales
- Answer sales calls for general information, addressing and resolving customer concerns or questions
- Manage digital and online sales accounts
- Manage auction site sales accounts
- Manage all wide-spec account sales
- Manage distribution account sales
- Manage opportunistic customer segment account sales
- Occasionally travel to customer sites, trade shows, etc.
- Support other members of the commercial team
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies and skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Ability to adapt to challenges and remain dynamic to ensure customer satisfaction
- Must have strong working knowledge of personal computers utilizing Microsoft Office applications
- Organizational and prioritization skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, effective problem-solving skills, and good communication skills with both internal and external customers
- The ability to work in a group environment as well as independently. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Prior sales and/or customer service experience is required
- 3-5 years of supply chain logistics experience, preferably with railcar and bulk truck shipments
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or Business; Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Functional experience in SAP is preferred
- Must be willing and able to travel (nationally and internationally)
- Ability to work in the U.S. and successful completion of a pre-employment background check and screening
