POSITION SUMMARY:

KENT Nutrition Group (KNG) a member of the KENT Corporation family of companies is looking for a Territory Sales Manager (TSM) to join our retail team! The Territory Sales Manager will cover the company owned stores in the Northeast region primarily in New York, Connecticut, Vermont and Southern New Hampshire. This is a salaried with benefits opportunity reporting to the Director of the Retail Stores Division.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with store managers to grow products sales through direct sales calls, joint marketing efforts, education and training, seminars and clinics, merchandising and product introductions and general support.
  • Contributes to annual business planning with Director and administrative team. This includes developing sales goals, sales and marketing plan, promotions calendars, events, etc. that will support dealership growth and corporate sales goals.
  • Prospecting and selling to end user customers, stables, farms, training facilities, etc.
  • Prospecting and developing new sub-dealers in under-served geographies.
  • Manage sub-dealer network including communication, promotion and marketing plan, training, etc.
  • Engaging with local organizations, clubs, and associations to brand build, influence and educate toward the purchase of Blue Seal and Kent
  • Support stores and sub-dealers with product training and new product launches.
  • Accountable for sales volume and profitability goals for assigned territory. Responsible for annual goal setting, and quarterly and bi-annual business reviews.
  • Responsible for representing multiple-species including, but not limited to equine, poultry, dog and cat, sheep, goat, beef and small animals.
  • Ability to provide support and direction to the Store managers handling field sales calls
  • Collaborate with Store Managers to identify open markets to set up appropriate distribution
  • Establish growth strategy to increase profitability of KNG products in company owned stores

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor degree in Animal Science or Ag related business degree required.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong working knowledge of feed and animal nutrition, particularly equine and poultry.
  • 3-4 years of sales experience in animal nutrition and/or feed.
  • Preferred experience in the Retail field.
  • Strong competitive nature and desire to sell.
  • Self-motivated, driven and passionate about the industry.
  • Outgoing, personable, energetic and engaging personality.
  • Relentless follow through and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision.
  • Effective use of computer technology including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Strong results-orientated and goal motivated team player
  • Currently lives in or willing to relocate to assigned territory (Southern New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut & New York)

TRAVEL:

  • 30% of time spent in the Stores
  • 70% of the time spent in the field
