Scope of Position
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC), James Cancer and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC James) is committed to continuously improving the quality of care provided to patients as well as the systems supporting research, clinical care, and operations. The OSUCCC James is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nations largest public universities. CancerBridge provides educational oncology support for local, regional, and national clients.
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Business Operations, the Business Development Director (Director) drives and supports the business and financial operations of CancerBridge to provide over the phone oncology support and educational resources. The Director leads business development for the program across the enterprise and University. The role provides leadership to staff to drive growth through strategic and programmatic development and implementation. The role interacts with colleagues across the organization in a collaborative, consultative, and results-oriented manner to achieve programmatic growth. The responsibility of this role includes the clinical care coordination, clinical team management, financial management, sales and business development, contract management, strategy and roadmap development and customer retention; adapting, innovating, and improving every aspect of business development to achieve our organization's financial goals.
Position Summary
The Director is responsible for leading, guiding, and providing administrative direction for CancerBridge. This role provides direction for creation and execution of vision, strategy, and operating plans and will drive innovation to enhance the companys position and competitive advantage in the market.
The Director develops, aligns, and operationalizes all CancerBridge activities in support of the overall programmatic goals and ensuring increased awareness and client expansion in local, regional, and national markets. The Director is responsible for identifying gaps in the existing product offering and adjusting, accordingly, tracking toward the CancerBridge five-year roadmap
The Director is responsible for business development activities including new business development, customer contract creation and management in collaboration with legal counsel, new client implementation, employee engagement strategy for each client, P&L oversight, and quarterly reporting to the CancerBridge board of directors regarding financial health and future strategy. The Director provides leadership and direction in developing and translating financial budget, benchmarking and productivity objectives into action and achievement.
The Director is responsible for clinical care coordination and clinical team management. Providing clinical program oversight and leadership to the team including nurses, managers, and other roles within the department. The Director develops and maintains effective working relationships with medical staff, administrators, internal and external partners, and external customers.
The Director participates in professional organizations, community and national events and workgroups to promote the image of the organization externally.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree required
Minimum of 10 years of experience in new business creation, scaling and operations management, including leading teams with a customer and business development focus, Demonstrated achievement of measurable results.
Requires strong leadership, critical thinking, excellent communication, and presentation skills, as well as a refined professional demeanor
Experience in faculty engagement, business development and consulting in an academic medical center preferred.
May require travel domestically and internationally.
