Position Specifics:

Department: Irrigation

Reports to: Irrigation Department Manager or Store Manager

Supervises: Irrigation Service Department

Purpose:

Provide customer support, maintenance and repair of irrigation equipment including

systems, pumps and motors. Provides both telephone and on-site support for customers

that includes taking detailed messages and parts sales.

Responsibilities:

o Greets customers and assists in determining irrigation needs and makes practical

recommendations to meet their needs.

o Assist in the selling, stocking, receiving and inventorying irrigation department parts

o Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble, and irrigation equipment

o Perform in-field irrigation diagnostics and repairs as required

o Serve as an in-field representative for the dealership to provide irrigation solutions and

enhance customer satisfaction

o Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing, including any parts and/or fluids used

o Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to

develop and advance knowledge base and skill set

o Maintains current knowledge of Valley Irrigation product as well as competitive products

o Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment

o Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion

o Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

o Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments

o Accounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

o 1+ years of experience performing irrigation service repairs

o 1+ years of welding experience

o Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures

o Proficient knowledge of mechanical and electrical used in the repair of irrigation equipment

o Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes

o Proficient oral and written communication skills

o Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly

o High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred

Irrigation Service Specialist

o Valid drivers license is required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• On call
• Overtime

• farm irrigation: 1 year (Preferred)
• Welding: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
