Job Description
By adhering to our values of Gracious Service + Creative Cuisine, the Director of Sales will maintain a healthy team culture, both in the sales team as well as the wider G Catering Company.
The Director of Sales objective is to utilize a team-oriented approach to generate profitable sales and create and sustain steady streams of revenue, as well as exploring new growth opportunities.
The goals for the Director of Sales include shifting business contracts from 50% weddings and 50% corporate events to 40% weddings and 60% corporate events by increasing weekday corporate event sales. They will also help facilitate annual growth goals for both the G Catering Company, as well as specific departments.
Ongoing responsibilities include:
- Fostering and nurturing a sales team that is cohesive and supportive of each other
- Providing leadership to the sales team by motivating and encouraging sales performance to ensure projections

- Working with the CEO and GM to monitor sales progress in all areas
- Scheduling and conducting weekly meetings with the sales team and individual sales team members to review
- sales goals and performance
- Coordinating with other departments to determine the optimum sales volume for any given day or week
- Qualifying sales inquiries and assigning qualified prospects to appropriate sales team members
- Consulting with potential clients to understand their needs, as well as recommending services or products that
- will meet those needs
- Resolving customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales
- operations
- Creating and submitting monthly reports for current and forecasted revenue
- Monitoring and approving sales expenses
- Overseeing discipline and terminations of employees in accordance with company policies and legal
- regulations in conjunction with the GM
- Providing accounting policy orientation for new staff
- Enforcing all policies and procedures
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Quarterly responsibilities include:
- Creating selling strategies to increase sales through early incentives, exclusives, up-sales, sales training, and menu and decor plans.
- Establishing marketing efforts with the CEO & GM
- Monitoring Social Media performance with the GM
- Maintaining policies and procedures for Sales Team and updating those policies and procedures as needed,
- with guidance from executive leadership
- Annual responsibilities include:
- Coordinating menu creation and education between the sales team and the Executive Chef
- Determining annual pricing structures with the CEO, GM and Executive Chef
- Collaborating with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies
- Setting quotas for the sales team and individual sales team members
- Creating annual sales plan and marketing strategy
- Recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating Senior and Junior Account Executives, Outside Sales Team Members, Event Assistants, and Interns
Requirements & Benefits
Required Knowledge & Skills
Previous Catering and Hospitality experience required
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including, but not limited to, finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
- In-depth experience of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line
- profitability analysis
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within tight timeframes
- Ability to efficiently manage several projects at one time
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Desired Knowledge & Skills
- Management experience
- Touch typing
- Prior knowledge and experience with Total Party Planner
- In-depth experience with Microsoft Excel
- Limited experience with Canva, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Dropbox
- Knowledge of customer CRM systems and processes
- Experience in catering operations - off-site catering preferred
- Existing network of contacts within the hospitality industry in middle Tennessee and the greater Nashville area
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to drive, stand, sit, and walk - sometimes for long periods of time
- Sight and the use of fingers and hands required
- Ability to occasionally help load and unload a vehicle, including lifting of 20+ pounds

Compensation:
- Salary plus commissions based on annual sales growth and performance matrix
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
