We are looking for our next District Sales Manager supporting the Vision Care Sales team, in our Upstate New York Markets. As a District Sales Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of Account Managers who sell Alcons portfolio of Vision Care products to Eye Care Practitioners including our best-selling line of contact lenses.
**This territory includes a majority of upstate New York, Eastern Ohio and Northern, PA. Ideal candidates will be located near Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY and Albany, NY, Syracuse, N**
In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Hire, develop, coach and train Account Managers to meet or exceed Alcons sales, financial and territory management objectives
  • Strengthen your team through coaching conversations during co-travels and business reviews, training, and on-boarding activities
  • Drive sales results through your knowledge of the market, customers, competitors and Alcon product, sales skills, and prioritization of activities
  • Increase performance results by applying data insights from sales tools and feedback from customers and participating in field co-travels.
  • Assess the talent landscape and champion growth and development via performance assessments and career discussions
  • Mentor and assist team members to build and implement a strategic plan and routing schedule for their territory to capitalize on revenue from the highest potential customers
  • Provide Program strategic direction to Account Managers and Practice Experience Managers by applying both market and Alcon sales data by channel and product.
  • Lead in District/Regional/National meetings
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Attainment of quarterly and annual sales quotas for assigned District
  • Call metrics including reach and frequency to targeted accounts
  • Compliance to regulations
What youll bring to Alcon:
  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs.; Assoc.+9 yrs.; M.S.+2 yrs.; PhD+1 yr.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 3 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
Work hours: Monday-Friday, Daytime hours with occasional evening events
Travel Requirements: 50% within District (Variable by Market) including regular overnights

Preferred Skills and Experiences:
  • Preferred experience in medical device sales, medical sales, healthcare, vision care or business to business sales
