Full description of the position

Bowers Lumber Company is hiring a Full Time, self-motivated, experienced individual to sell building supplies such as lumber, plywood, doors, windows, roofing among other building materials.

This position is NOT a checkout/cashier position and will require sales experience & skills in order to determine customer needs to match them with the correct product.

Minimum 5 years experience in building supply and/or construction REQUIRED.

Skills necessary:

• Self motivated
• Must be able to learn large product line and discuss products with customers
• Working with contractors and general public and assess needs quickly
• Basic understanding of building plans and construction necessary.
• Must be comfortable with inside and outside work environment
• Need experience with construction equipment such as table saw
• Be able to intelligently discuss our product line with customers
• Effectively work with customers over telephone sales calls
• Operate behind a sales counter and able to reference sales catalogs
• Understand inventory control and help with purchasing needs

Requirements of employment:

• All potential employees will be subjected to a drug screen
• All potential employees will be subjected to a background check.
• Must be at least 21 yrs old.
• Good attitude and ability to work with others a MUST.
• Stand on feet for long hours
• Work M-F and possibility of some Saturdays.
