Director of Sales (Hospitality)
Our BRAND NEW Residence Inn by Marriott Mechanicsburg, PA is currently under construction and we are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Sales.
The ideal Director of Sales candidate must possess extensive knowledge of hotel operations, a positive attitude, strong prospecting skills, and work with little or no supervision. The Director of Sales is also expected to have direct involvement with guests and employees, as well as participate in community activities, and therefore must be able to work well with others. This candidate must embody professionalism and have the keen ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The right individual will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and be able to demonstrate strong decision-making capabilities and strategizing skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals as established by the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and/or Area Director of Sales.
- Provide strategic sales and revenue direction for the purpose of driving top line revenue and growing market share.
- Quickly develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to set proactive strategies.
- Ability to effectively network and represent the company and hotel at both community and industry led events.
- Capture, maintain and grow Global and Local Account partnerships.
- Prompt handling of inquiry calls as they come into the hotel.
- Ability to make outside sales and solicitation calls to obtain business.
- Ability to evaluate a potential piece of business for profitability and overall benefit to the hotel.
- Knowledge of revenue management procedures and how it impacts the hotel, and the ability to effectively make decisions based on market trends.
- Effectively communicate client needs to the operations team to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Operate the Sales Department within the established sales expense budget.
- Prepare weekly activity report to include all financial booking performance and personal call reports for active solicitation performed.
Director of Sales Job Requirements:
The right candidate for this position will be able to perform all duties satisfactorily, leading to sales and revenue growth within the hotel. It is important to remember that the hotel operates 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and be able to adjust accordingly.

Position Experience and Requirements:
Bachelors degree preferred
High school diploma or equivalent education/experience required
Two or more years of hotel sales experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of FOSSE, MARSHA, and STS preferred
Current and valid drivers license
