Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Conducts and designs company learning and educational programs relating to management and professional development, on-the-job training, and skills readiness. May also serve as an instructor for employee/leadership development and/or technical training curriculum.
• Ensures records of training activities and employee progress are maintained.
• Ensures the effective delivery of instructional courses and presentations.
• Drives curriculum/program design and enhancements.
  • Develops schedules and programs.
  • Coordinates training activities with company management to ensure a smooth, efficient process.
  • Researches and recommends new methods of presentation and delivery.
  • Identifies courses that aid development of specific competencies.
• Researches and recommends services provided by external consultants or organizations. Participates in negotiations and/or administering contract/service agreements. May secure appropriate approval.
• Collaborates with business managers and senior management to assess short-term and long-term training needs for business/functional units and their employees.
• Develops specifications for learning and development equipment and systems, including online learning tools and learning management systems (LMS).
• Provides technical advice to lower level positions and other functional areas.
• Maintains advanced knowledge of the organization, adult learning principles, current trends in employee education, informal learning methods, and opportunities to leverage social media.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent.

Field of Study: Sales, Human Resources, Human Resource Development, Business, Education, Instructional Design or related discipline.

Experience: Generally, 8 to 10 years of related experience. Continuing progress toward and/or the completion of a professional designation preferred, such as Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or an Insurance designation.
