The company continues to be owned and operated by the Mulling family, including Jim Mulling (President), Kevin Mulling (VP of Operations), and Mark Spann (VP of Sales). The agency now consists of 40+ team members proudly serving 10,000+ businesses and individuals in Central Florida.
We have organized our services into four divisions: Personal Insurance, Business Insurance, Group Benefits and Financial Services. All agency sales and service personnel are required to be licensed agents and encouraged to pursue department-specific professional designations, as we strive to have the most knowledgeable and professional staff available for our customers.
Mulling Insurance Agency will provide quality personal, commercial and employee benefits insurance products to individuals and businesses located within our trade area to help them achieve their financial security goals. Our staff will be dedicated to pursuing insurance knowledge and skills that will benefit our clients by providing them current, accurate information about insurance products and delivering outstanding service that exceeds their needs and requests.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Mulling Insurance is seeking a licensed Commercial Lines Marketing Specialist with a minimum 2+ years experience to work closely with our sales team, account managers and carriers to market prospective client submissions and prepares proposals for presentation by our sales team. This is a hybrid position with 1-2 days in the office and 3-4 days remote, after training is complete.
In addition they will have involvement in all centralized placement functions and underwriting negotiations on new and renewal property and casualty business (Marketing). The Marketing Specialist is expected to perform and prioritize daily tasks and responsibilities which meet Mulling Best Practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the effective marketing of insurance risks to companies
- Market all lines of commercial insurance for new business and existing clients. Pre-underwrite commercial accounts within insurance company delegated underwriting authority, guidelines and procedures
- Evaluating submissions to determine a comprehensive marketing plan based on carrier appetites.
- Updates policy information, gathering loss reports, and completing applications/submissions.
- Prepare proposals and binding/issuing policies.
- Working with insurance underwriters to receive timely and accurate quotes.
- Negotiating for the terms and conditions that gives us an edge to win.
- Maintenance of Applied (EPIC) Management System and Document Management System
- Maintain professional attitude, stability and tolerance in multi-task, time-critical environment.
- Maintain professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients including professionally written, concise and clear email communications
- Provide timely response to producer inquiries and requests
- Manage and prioritize workload in accordance with procedures
- Ability to handle multiple priorities including unexpected client requests
- Commitment to continuing education, professional growth and development
- Willingness and initiative to develop proficiency with resources, technology and tools provided
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Current Florida 4-40 or 220 insurance license.
- Proven capabilities in marketing related duties with an understanding of multiple rating platforms through national and regional insurance carriers.
- College degree desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of two years commercial property and casualty insurance experience preferred
- Proficient computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft products (intermediate to advanced level)
- Ability to maintain and organize electronic files on the company document management system
- Working knowledge of Applied (EPIC) Management System, or willingness to learn
- Strong reasoning and analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Responsive and self-motivated team player
- Excellent telephone skills and email etiquette
- Excellent spelling, grammar and business writing skills
