Full description of the position

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sales & Marketing Director at a luxury, all-inclusive, waterfront wedding venue located on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. We are actively looking to meet the best and brightest talent that the hospitality industry has to offer to join our management team.

Our Sales & Marketing Director will lead, inspire, manage, direct, and oversee sales at Herrington on the Bay. Fulfills the expectations of the Companys purpose, vision and mission through the use of the Companys core values. Participates as an active, contributing, and relevant member of the Leadership Team and has direct reports of all Sales Team members.

The Brass Tacks:

Collaborate as an active, relevant, contributing member of the Leadership Team to discuss, develop, and implement Company policy and procedures to meet the goals of Herrington on the Bay. Inform and advise the Leadership Team of the operations of the Sales Department and marketing updates.

Directs and supervises day to day operations of the Sales Team in accordance with policy and procedures established by Herrington on the Bay.

Observes and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the standard operating procedures of the Sales Department and Herrington on the Bay; Identify opportunities for improvements; and Collaborate with all stakeholders to affect change.

Represents Herrington on the Bay in response to inquiries and complaints and negotiates and resolves sensitive, significant and controversial issues with all stakeholders in accordance with company policy.

Develops Sales team annual goals in conjunction with the Company goals.

Oversees and ensures appropriate, efficient and effective implementation of the Sales Department goals, objectives, policy and priorities in order to support the purpose vision and mission of Herrington on the Bay.

Collaborates in establishing the Sales Department budgets. Assumes fiduciary responsibility of all decisions and action performed by the Sales Department Team. Ensures appropriate staffing levels, allocation and use of company resources.

Stay informed of new trends and innovations in the wedding and event industry. Provide guidance on the incorporation of positive, do-able and relevant items into Herrington on the Bays facility, products and services.

Engage and connect with, inspire creativity and optimal performance of and train and provide opportunities for growth and opportunities for the Sales Department in conjunction with vision, mission and core values of Herrington on the Bay.

Perform other responsibilities identified by the Owner, General Manager and Leadership Team.

The Nitty Gritty

Participate and contribute in Leadership Team meetings and discussions.

Serve as radar and insight for Leadership Team.

Provide confidence to all guests and clients of Herrington on the Bay by communicating regularly in a professional, helpful Herrington expert manner with authentic care and concern for the clients well-being.

Inspire each Sales Team member to perform at their peak in their individual positions and as a vital link and contributor within the Herrington on the Bay Team by providing professional empathy, understanding, and support of their needs as humans and team members.

Facilitate and teach clear, open and collaborative communication to occur between the Sales Team staff and other departments, department members and other stakeholders at/of Herrington on the Bay.

Take calculated risks and make decisions that generate a profit for Herrington on the Bay

Train and mentor team members to do their best, learn new skills and grow. Providing guidance in their quest for career advancement and success.

Provide outside educational opportunities for Sales Team members when appropriate.

Research and explore new trends in the industry. Communicate and implement ideas as relevant and vital.

Oversee and assist in conjunction with the Business Director and Director of Events the recruiting, hiring, training, managing, and coaching of all Sales Team staff.

Represent Herrington on the Bay as needed.

Lead the weekly Sales Meeting; agenda and notes.

Create content and design for any marketing materials used by the Sales Team (Initial Package/Welcome Package)

Responsible for all menu changes and updates. Ensuring items are costed, approved and put into caterease.

Maintains and updated all reports pertaining to the Sales Department including but not limited to: Open Dates Report, Sales Report, Tentative Reports, and Conversions Report.

Develop relevant content topics to reach potential couples/clients.

Develop relevant content topics to reach potential couples/clients.

Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video and written).

Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts.

Oversee design (ie: Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, Blog, website etc.).

Design, create and manage promotions and Social ad campaigns.

Monitor google analytics and social media insight tools to create useful content
