Full description of the position

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an Area Sales Manager responsible for supervising and organizing our sales team. The sales manager develops and coaches the team, develops our selling techniques and playbook, and fosters camaraderie among the team. This position will play a significant role in helping the HR department hire and train new team members.

The Sales Manager is responsible for conducting regular assessments and tracking daily activities and sales metrics. The right candidate should have passion, sense of urgency, and desire to exceed expectations.

The individual will manage and work closely with sales staff and regional director to meet goals set forth by the company. Doing so will require developing, writing, and publishing company specific training materials to facilitate goals and assist salespeople. To demonstrate the success of these procedures, you will also be expected to collect and interpret data regarding training processes and salespeople. You must be able to direct and support your team in providing outstanding communication and service while assisting in resolving issues that may arise.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for the South Carolina Midland territories and will report directly to the Vice President.

SELLING & SALES PROGRAM

  • Coach sales team on cold and warm call strategies.
  • Implements Sales Programs by developing field sales and action plans
  • Develop scripts for both inside and outside Sales Representatives
  • Assign sales territories
  • Advise the sales representatives on ways to improve their sales performance.
  • Develop & implement coaching strategies for sales representative when under-performing
  • Create incentives plans for sales reps when goals are met
  • Ensure sales team have the necessary resources to perform job functions
  • Help develop promotional ideas and material.
  • Work with marketing to develop coupons, brochures, contracts, presentation guide, mail, etc.
  • Create at least 6 contests per year to drive and increase sales.
  • Develop program for sales teams along with training & daily expectations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Highly motivated, have a strong work ethic and enjoy the selling process
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to win (for self, team, and customer)
  • Effectively organizes own work and gets things done on a timely basis
  • The ability to make sound and effective decisions in keeping in company vales
  • Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
  • Basic computer skills. i.e.: Microsoft Office Applications, handheld devices, smartphones, iPads
  • Goal oriented with the desire to meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales metrics
  • Ability to document sales processes and best practices

LEADS, QUOTAS & GOALS

  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing Annual, Monthly & Daily sales quotas & goals for offices and territories.
  • Set sales goals for salespeople.
  • Set sales quotas for salespeople.
  • Help project expected sales volume for EACH service.
  • Maintains sales volume, service mix, and selling price by keeping current with competitor's pricing. (Help develop price schedules & rates)
  • Generate numbers for the company to determine if sales goals have been met.
  • Ensure complete follow-up procedures on leads.
  • Help in lead generation.
  • Investigate lost sales and customer accounts

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration and/or a high school diploma with a combination of education and /or proven success in prior sales jobs.
  • 2 -3 years of Sales management experience or prior sales training is highly desired.
  • Experience in planning and implementing sales.
  • Experience in customer relationship management
  • Experience developing training materials
  • Previous experience in the pest control industry highly desired
