Full description of the position

Universal Oil is a 147-year-old employee-owned fuel & lubricant company located in Cleveland. We are searching for an experienced candidate to fill a sales manager position. We are looking for an aggressive, outgoing, detail-oriented, data-driven professional who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment. A day-in and day-out focus on customer support, service, and the ability to learn technical aspects of products are crucial to this position. The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in an outside sales position where they have worked directly with customers and led the sales function for a particular territory with a specific focus on going after new business. Proficiency in MS Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook are important. Working knowledge of CRM (Salesforce) & Microsoft Dynamics is also helpful. Experience in the petroleum space is required. Being comfortable as a data first sales manager is critical to success in this position.

Duties: -Provide exceptional customer service to assigned, established accounts

- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and objectives, focusing on volume and profit growth -Develop action plans by account - current and prospective customers

- Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with potential clients

- Conduct market research and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth

- Manage key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction through effective account management with daily interaction with customers by phone and face-to-face at their facility

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sales initiatives and meet targets

- Utilize Salesforce or other CRM tools to track sales activities, pipeline, and performance metrics

- Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, economic indicators, and market conditions by keeping current with supply and demand -Cold calling prospective customers opportunistically and in a highly organized way will be 50% of the successful candidate's position -Increase company share of wallet by cross-selling additional products -Support credit applications process and ensure timely execution

Requirements:

- Proven experience in sales, with a minimum of 5 years of experience

- Organized and proactive follow-up ability

- Ability to analyze market trends and customer needs to develop effective sales strategies to grow customers and territory

- Experience in account management and building long-term client relationships

- Familiarity with technology sales is a plus

- Proficiency in Salesforce or other CRM software is highly desirable

- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to close deals effectively to accelerate the closing cycle and ask for the sale - Willingness to learn fuel and technical lubrication business -Persuasiveness and bold decision-making

- Work in a fast-paced, team environment with exceptional computer skills

- Proven track record of business development success -Have prospects in the pipeline for short term/long term -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Be able to multitask and problem solve -Be attentive to details -Provide superior product knowledge to the customer per OEM specs -Positive, one team attitude
