We have five regionally located service centers across the country, and we have over 200 dedicated employees helping to meet customer needs on a daily basis.
Tubular Steel is currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Engineer for our St. Louis office located in Creve Coeur, MO.
The Sales Engineer is responsible for assisting in the development of new business for value-added services at all Tubular Steel facilities, with emphasis on the New Haven fabrication facility and the Hazelwood tube laser. This position will also support the Outside Sales Territory Managers and Inside Sales Account Managers in their efforts to maintain and grow valued-added services.
Essential responsibilities:
Work with our value-added processes, reviewing costing, conduct time studies and evaluate overall costing to determine if these services are meeting the companys price and margin strategies.
- Play a key role in increasing income/revenue by managing/negotiating with vendors and customers through the sales process and selling value-added-services offered by the organization.
- Work with the customers, vendors and Engineers to ensure we can meet the customers requirements.
- Coordinate and negotiate with vendors for outsourced value added processes.
- Demonstrate product capabilities and product knowledge while offering solutions and alternatives best suited to the customer's business needs.
- Build higher, wider and deeper relationships with active accounts insuring sustainable growth.
- Recommend new and improved products to the customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective.
- Supports sales campaigns and product/inventory initiatives.
- Network within local or regional associations related to manufacturing or tubular steel consumption.
- Develop and execute a regional strategy that supports the overall growth strategy of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read CAD drawings/blueprints and ask clarifying questions.
- Experience being an estimator and completing quotes.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years manufacturing experience, preferably in the steel industry.
- Ability to travel as needed 25% of the time.
Compensation is commensurate with your experience level.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
