Title: Automotive Parts Sales & Order Processor

Location: Cumming, Iowa (new office location in DSM coming soon!)

Hours: 9-6pm Mon-Fri

Compensation: TBD based on experience ($20-$25hr)

Do you know diesel trucks like the back of your hand? Were looking for an auto parts expert with a knack for sales and customer service! This position is taking and making sales calls to help truck owners solve problems and find the right mix of parts to keep them on the road. The right candidate must be able to ask the right questions to help our truck owners determine what's causing their issue and make a suggestion on how to solve it, whether it's with our parts or not!

About Us: We specialize in diesel truck performance tuning, parts and accessories. We are an e-commerce business, taking orders online and over the phone. We are a laid back and casual office but were definitely focused on improving our sales performance every day.

Essential Skills:

The ideal candidate for this position would be someone with a dynamic blend of skills. Someone who is super passionate about diesel trucks and knows how they work, comfortable issuing purchase orders, processing sales orders and talking to customers, but equally comfortable pulling parts, packing boxes and processing inbound and outbound shipping, when needed.

• Automotive Knowledge: A good understanding of general automotive and mechanical concepts, parts, and repairs is critical. Our whole business is revolves around automotive maintenance, problems and solutions.
• Superior Sales Skills: Must be able to listen to a customer, empathize and offer the right products for their issue. Many people call in for a particular product that may not solve their problem, so you must be able to ask the right questions and confidently redirect them to the parts that will meet their needs. The goal is to win a customer for life with each call.
• Basic Computer Skills: Solid computer, office machine and web skills are a must. Our operations team utilizes a variety of Windows and cloud based software platforms, a VOIP office phone system and a couple of printer types. We need someone that can jump in and roll!
• Multi-tasking: The ability to multi-task is vital. We need someone able to juggle multiple tasks/efforts simultaneously and work well under moderate pressure.
• Electronics Knowledge: Candidates with some basic fundamental electronics/circuit board knowledge are desired but its not an absolute requirement. If you have all the other core skills, we can train, but we work with a variety of modules, boards, tuners and electronics.
• Overtime: Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
• Attention to Detail: Able to accurately generate purchase orders, invoices, credit memos, documents and e-mail communication. Accuracy and attention to detail is critical.
• Physically Able: Must be able to able to lift up to 50lbs, kneel, bend and reach
• Team Player: Must be able to work well with and get along with co-workers and management. Interacting in a mutually respectful manner is a requirement. To function effectively as a team, we need team players.

Typical Duties:

• Taking/Making Sales Calls: answering customer questions via phone and online and providing expert recommendations
• Processing Orders: monitoring, entering, processing customer orders
• Electronics & Tuning: Loading software onto modules, loading tuners, labeling modules (preferred but not required)
• Shipping: Processing inbound and outbound shipping when needed
• Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory and sourcing/ordering parts from various vendors
• Continuing Education: ongoing learning of product lines, applicable customer vehicles & components

Requirements:

Applicants must have a good grasp of auto parts, a solid work history demonstrating commitment, performance and dependability and be comfortable navigating customer conversations.
