HIRING Catering Sales Manager (Marriott Anchorage Downtown)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The ability to direct and maintain the sales process
• Tend to all inquiry phone calls/walk-ins
• Conduct tours and meet with potential clients
• Full comprehension of complete menu and ability to creatively sell our options
• Negotiate contracts to secure maximum revenue/profit while satisfying client needs
• Conduct and maintain appropriate trace/follow-up systems for all sales activity
• Ability to translate client needs/wishes into written form on event orders
• Clearly communicate the needs of our clients to banquet manager/chef
• Maintain potential/existing client database
• Create appropriate sales collateral and tools for department
• Participate in appropriate weekly communication meetings with operations team to ensure successful events.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Director of Catering as necessary on projects.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Required

• 6 months - 2 years related experience in the hospitality industry
• Organized & detail oriented

Preferred

• Thorough knowledge of property, space, capacities, concept/food style (menus)
• Knowledge of sales/negotiation/closing process
• High level of creativity, enthusiasm and flexibility
• Operational experience in catering or banquet department at a full service hotel
