Full description of the position

The Virtual Sales Representative is responsible for supporting priorities and initiatives in support of delivering exceptional customer service to Benshaw customers, distributors and selling resources. Foundational commitment to employee core competency and organizational development, adherence to company code of conduct policies and overall business and personal integrity are required. This role must possess a whatever it takes attitude and is expected to work well with their peers as well as be able to effectively problem solve on their own.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Targeting new territories and markets that are not currently covered by existing Benshaw channels.
  • Concentrate on growing current average accounts by making them top tier accounts.
  • Communicate effectively via telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services.
  • Ability to utilize D&B Hoover search tool to identify new potential customers for Territory sales managers (TSM) to engage with.
  • Provide leads and appointments for TSMs or pursue a direct-to-Benshaw web selling approach..
  • Quote creation, assist with order processing and day-to-day customer &/or sales team requests.
  • Receives, processes, coordinates, tracks, product submitted under established business arrangements.
  • Provides product demos and literature to qualified customers upon request.
  • Provide details for quotation to order entry to ensure proper processing of purchase orders.
  • Work well with team members and provide support for RSMs, reps, customers, etc.

Established Success Measures

  • Sales volume in accordance with annual operating plan targets
  • Order (booking) volume targets
  • Price quality targets in support of overall business profitability objectives
  • Customer net promoter improvement targets

Position Skill and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associates Degree in related business or technical field desired.
  • Experience in electrical field preferred.
  • Electrical distribution experience preferred.
  • 2 - 5 years of inside sales experience, preferably with a technical product.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support both internal and external individual and team engagement
  • Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
  • Requires strong commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Detail orientated, independent self-starter
  • Realized and / or ability to become proficient with ERP, CRM, email, word processing and related tools and systems
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills required
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, self-starter
  • Whatever it takes attitude
