POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager position exists to identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive company growth and revenue. This role requires a proactive, results-driven professional with a keen understanding of the industry landscape and the ability to drive successful business partnerships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and executes strategic plans that expand the company's customer base, increases market presence, and further expands company values with the team.
- Conducts in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities, emerging trends, and potential competitors, providing valuable insights to the Originations team.
- Analyzes business development performance metrics and implement improvements to achieve growth targets.
- Organizes and presents proposals to showcase the company's offerings to business prospects.
- Solicits new accounts within assigned geographic territory.
- Researches market and positions VMF to maximize market share.
- Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with new and existing partners, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities, while advocating for retailers and realtors as needed to maximize relationship with Vanderbilt.
- Travels frequently to meet with existing and potential partners to build business.
- Engages with potential partners to understand their needs and positions the company's products/services as solutions.
- Conducts negotiations and contract discussions with partners, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company, partner, and customers.
- Nurtures and maintains positive relationships with partner clients to encourage loyalty and repeat business.
- Identifies priority closings and works with all loan originations groups to identify inefficiencies and provide resolutions.
- Supports existing accounts with education and training on VMF processes and programs.
- Builds and maintains a strong pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
- Seeks opportunities to enhance processes and foster relationships through industry research via required travel to dealers, realtor associations, and conventions.
- Possesses a visionary mindset with the ability to assess market needs and develop business strategies to meet future and existing needs.
- Executes point of sale displays with assigned retailers and train retailer staff on application of these materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required, college preferred.
- Eight plus years in the mortgage lending field preferred
- NMLS License in required states.
- Experience managing teams, passion for customers and demonstrated focus on customer experience.
- Must be able to become licensed in multiple states as requested which require proper training, testing, background checks, and credit checks.
- Demonstrated ability to meet commitments, build consensus, negotiate resolutions, and garner respect from other teams.
- General understanding of loan origination procedures.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated personality with the capacity to meet and exceed assigned goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work internally across all teams.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to learn, hard-working, determined, and assertive.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- 50% communication methods completed over the phone.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.
- Ability to identify and assess account status and determine appropriate process.
- Constantly works in an indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
